1930s Korea, in the period of Japanese occupation, a new girl is hired as a handmaiden to a Japanese heiress who lives a secluded life on a large countryside estate with her domineering Uncle. But the maid has a secret. She is a pickpocket recruited by a swindler posing as a Japanese Count to help him seduce the Lady to elope with him, rob her of her fortune, and lock her up in a madhouse. The plan seems to proceed according to plan until Sookee and Hideko discover some unexpected emotions.
The Handmaiden was nominated for a Palm d’ Or and Queer Palm in 2016, and won a BAFTA in 2018 Best Film Not in the English Language.

Drag queens Vida Boheme (Patrick Swayze), Noxeema Jackson (Wesley Snipes), and Chi-Chi Rodriguez (John Leguizamo) embark on a cross-country road trip in their 1967 Cadillac DeVille convertible to compete in the Miss Drag Queen of America pageant in Hollywood. When their car breaks down, they end up stranded in Snydersville, a small conservative town in middle America. Amongst the camp, To Wong Foo is a heartfelt story that demonstrates the power of empathy and acceptance while highlighting the importance of community and solidarity.
